Have your students ever asked you "did that test bring my grade up or down?" It's hard enough for me to keep track of what I ate for lunch, let alone the ebbs and flows of all of my students' grades!
And this is how the Color Coded Weekly Grade Log was born!
I wanted a way to answer that question for my students and myself. I wanted to see if a particular assignment had the impact on grades that I anticipated. I needed this to be a quick, easy, and painless process for me. My students and I needed it to have a visual impact. I hoped I could find a way to use this tool to recognize student achievement and student growth.
What I didn't anticipate is how effective of a tool this would be in my classroom!
